Connect your Flow Keyboard

The NUIO keyboard is easy to set up. Just turn on the power, then simply pair it to your Windows computer using the bluetooth menu of the device you would like to connect with.

Follow these steps:

  1. Make sure Bluetooth is turned “on” from the Windows computer you want to connect with.
  2. Connect keyboard to your Windows computer by switching NUIO keyboard ON and to the desired channel position, 1, 2 or 3 using the On/Off Switch (so green is visible).
  3. Go to the Start Menu > Settings > Bluetooth & Devices, then press the "Add Device" button. In the "Add Device" menu, choose Bluetooth. You will see the NUIO Keyboard listed as “NUIO Flow Keyboard 1”, “NUIO Flow Keyboard 2” or “NUIO Flow Keyboard 3” – the number corresponds to the selected channel position of the On/Off power switch.
  4. If your NUIO Keyboard does not appear in the Bluetooth menu, press the Bluetooth Key on your NUIO Flow Keyboard (right side) for 4 seconds. This will force the Flow Keyboard into “pairing” mode. You should now see the NUIO Flow Keyboard in the Bluetooth menu.
  5. Connect your keyboard by clicking on “NUIO Flow Keyboard” in the Windows Bluetooth menu.
Your NUIO Flow Keyboard is now connected.

Backlighting

Use the (F4) key to turn on the backlight or increase it’s brightness. Use the (F3) key to decrease the brightness or turn off the backlight.

Recharge the battery

To recharge the battery, use the USB-C Cable that came with your keyboard. Plug the end with 2 USB-C ports into each half of your Flow Keyboard, and the single USB-C end into a USB-C port on your Windows or a certified USB-C power supply that supplies voltage at a minimum of 5V and 1.5 amps. The Keyboard Indicator light on the back of the keyboard will flash green to indicate that it is charging.

To check the battery status and levels, choose Start menu > Settings, then click Bluetooth. The battery status is shown in under the Flow Keyboard device and it displays connection status and the lowest battery level of the two batteries on the Flow Keyboard.

Alternatively, you may check the battery level by pressing the Battery Indicator button on the bottom of each keyboard. The button lights up to indicate the level of charge:

0 lights = 0% charged
1 light = 1% - 20% charged
2 lights = 21-40% charged
3 lights = 40-60% charged
4 lights = 60-80% charged
5 lights = 80-100% charged

The Flow Keyboard goes to sleep to conserve battery power when you aren’t using it. If you won’t be using your keyboard for an extended period, turn it off to conserve more battery power.

Waking from Sleep

You must press keys on both the right and left keyboards to wake the Flow Keyboard from sleep. To decrease the time to wake, press a key on the right side of the keyboard first, then press a key on the left side.

Remove pairing

  1. Choose Start menu > Settings, then click Bluetooth and Devices.
  2. Click the existing pairing in the “Mouse, keyboard and pen” section. Press the Remove Device button.

Clean your Flow Keyboard

To clean the outside of your keyboard, use a lint-free cloth. Don’t get moisture in any openings. Don’t use solvents, aerosol sprays, or abrasives to clean the keyboard.

Use care when magnets come together

Our products use magnets to aid with positioning and alignment. Because magnets can attract to each other, and other objects – please use care when handling them. Please be aware of the potential pinching hazard that can occur when two magnets come into close proximity or make contact. Magnets possess attractive forces that can cause them to snap together suddenly, creating a pinching effect that may result in injury to fingers, skin, or other objects caught in between. Store them apart or attach to the Deskpad when not in use. Keep them away from children and do not use them for any other purpose than they were designed for - as a positioning tool for NUIO products.

Also, please review our note about possible magnetic interference with medical devices here.
